Parents for Residential Reform (PFRR), is a grass-roots parents support organization for parents of children with special needs served in residential settings and group home settings. PFRR specializes in providing information and referral services to families, training activities to assist families in understanding their legal rights, and outreach to families who may require support and also host a hotline, list serve, and soon a message board on our website. PFRR has given voice to a group of families who have traditionally been unheard and their needs neglected. Parents need to feel connected and understand their rights under the law. In the past, horrendous abuses have occurred when families were isolated and lacked knowledge about the systems and services their children were receiving. Our goal is to ensure that every parent is knowledgeable and able to advocate for their child’s best interests.
